Test your BT Broadband speed

Big things are coming at EE

BT and EE are part of the same family, and big things are coming for the EE brand. But this won't change any of the BT services you have with us today. Read more about the changes coming to EE.

Use our My BT app or broadband troubleshooter to test the speed of your BT Broadband line. We'll then tell you how to understand the test results, and how to make simple changes to make sure you get the fastest speed possible. If there’s a problem with your line we’ll also give you the option to report a fault so we can get it fixed.

Test my speed

You can also test your speed using our My BT app.

We measure your download and upload speeds. These are the rates at which data is transferred between the network and your BT Hub. These speeds will vary throughout the day and are likely to be slower during busy periods, especially between 8-10pm. This is the equivalent of the internet rush hour when lots of people are using the shared parts of the network at the same time.

This may be different to the actual speed you receive on your device, which is affected by a wide range of factors. Things like the number of devices connected to your Hub at the same time and whether you're using wi-fi or a wired connection.
