How long does it take for BT to process my payment?

The time it takes for your payment to reach your account depends on how you paid. We can't guarantee that we'll process your payment within a certain time, but below are the normal times....

The time it takes for your payment to reach your account depends on how you paid.

We can't guarantee that we'll process your payment within a certain time, but below are the normal times you can expect. There may be delays on Bank Holidays.

 

Online

Payments made online before 9pm will be processed on the same day. It's a secure, quick and easy way to pay your bill with a credit or debit card.

By phone

Payments made before 9pm on our automated service on 0800 44 33 11, will be processed on the same day. If you're paying this way, you'll need your BT account number handy. You can find this at the top of your bill.

PayPoint

PayPoint payments will reach us the next working day.

By post

We'll process a payment sent to us by post on the day we receive it.

At the Post Office

If you pay at the Post Office between Monday and Thursday, we'll get the payment the next day. If you pay on a Friday, we'll get the payment the following Monday. And if you pay over the weekend, we'll get it the following Tuesday.

At a bank

If you pay at a bank between Monday and Thursday, we'll get the payment the next day. If you pay on a Friday, we'll get the payment the following Monday. And if you pay over the weekend, we'll get it the following Tuesday.
