Fix problems with Wi-Fi Calling

Big things are coming at EE

BT and EE are part of the same family, and big things are coming for the EE brand. But this won't change any of the BT services you have with us today. Read more about the changes coming to EE.

I have a compatible device, but don't see a "Wi-Fi Calling" setting in my menu

You may need to update to the latest version of your phone's software.

I'm connected to wi-fi, but I don't see the "Wi-Fi Call" indicator?

If your wi-fi signal isn't strong enough or can't support a voice call, your phone won't show the "Wi-Fi Call" indicator. This can sometimes happen over busy connections.

If you get this problem at home, there may be a problem with your internet connection. Start by checking if you can access the internet on your phone or other devices.

If you're using Wi-Fi Calling for the first time, you may need to switch off your phone and turn it back on before you see the 'Wi-Fi Calling' indicator.

I'm getting poor quality calls

To use Wi-Fi Calling we recommend a connection speed of 1mbps (megabits per second). If you've still got problems, it could be because your broadband isn't fast enough, or you're using up your bandwidth doing things like streaming films at the same time.

Test your broadband speed >

If you're on public wi-fi with lots of other users, then congestion or low bandwidth may affect call quality. You may need to check you're logged in correctly to access the wi-fi - not all public wi-fi hotspots will keep you logged in. If you continue to experience a poor connection, we recommend you turn off wi-fi calling.

I can't use Wi-Fi Calling when abroad

Sorry, Wi-Fi Calling isn't available abroad at the moment.

I can't change my settings for Call Waiting, Call Forwarding or Withhold Number when connected to Wi-Fi Calling

You can't activate these three services while you're on Wi-Fi Calling and without a mobile signal. The best thing is to set them up beforehand and they'll work as normal. You can't deactivate Call Forwarding while you're using Wi-Fi Calling, even when network coverage is available.
