How do I access camera settings?

In the BT Home Cam App:

  1. Log in to the BT Home Cam App on your device
  2. Go to the My Camera page
  3. Tap 'Camera Settings' next to your camera

In the Web Portal:

  1. Log in to the BT Home Cam Web Portal at https://myhomecam.bt.com
  2. Select the 'My Camera' menu
  3. Select your camera
  4. Select 'Settings'

 

Where can I find the night vision settings and how do I control it?

In the BT Home Cam App:

  1. Log in to the BT Home Cam App
  2. On the My Camera page tap 'Camera Settings' next to your camera
  3. In the 'Video Streaming Quality' section you can find the 'Night Vision' setting
  4. Here you can turn the night vision on or off or select auto night vision mode

The night vision can also be set up on the web portal under 'Camera Settings'.

 

How do I adjust the video streaming quality?

By default video quality is automatically adjusted and limited by the bandwidth available to the viewing device. However you can manually adjust the bandwidth if you’re experiencing issues.

Note that manually setting to a high resolution may cause problems when viewing the live stream from a mobile network.

In the BT Home Cam App:

  1. Log in to the BT Home Cam App
  2. On the 'My Camera' page tap on the 'Camera Settings' next to your camera
  3. In the 'Streaming' section you can find the 'Auto Adjust' setting
  4. If 'Auto Adjust' is turned on the camera will adjust the video streaming quality automatically depending on your bandwidth. If 'Auto Adjust' is turned off you can define the frames per second, the quality and resolution size of your video streaming quality manually

The video streaming quality can also be adjusted on the web portal under 'Camera Settings'.

 

How do I change between HD and SD live video?

By default video quality is automatically adjusted and limited by the bandwidth available to the viewing device.

How do I access the live camera stream?

In the BT Home Cam App:

  1. Log in to the BT Home Cam App
  2. On the 'My Camera' page tap on your camera
  3. It will then load the live camera stream

In the Web Portal:

  1. Log in to the web portal at https://myhomecam.bt.com
  2. Click on the 'My Camera' menu
  3. Click on your camera
  4. It will then load the live camera stream

 

How long can I view the Home Cam live video?

On the home network there is no limit on the live video time out. Outside of the home network the limit is 15 minutes.

 

How do I turn on or off auto login for the App?

  1. Log in to the BT Home Cam App on your device
  2. Go to 'App Settings'
  3. You can turn 'Auto Login' on or off here

 

How can I turn on or turn off the audio monitoring?

In the BT Home Cam App:

  1. Log in to the BT Home Cam App
  2. On the 'My Camera' page tap on the 'Camera Settings' next to your camera
  3. In the 'Audio' section you can find the 'Microphone' setting
  4. Here you can turn your microphone on or off

In the Web Portal:

  1. Log in to the web portal at https://myhomecam.bt.com
  2. Click on the 'My Camera' menu
  3. Click on your camera
  4. Click on 'Settings'
  5. At the 'Audio' section you'll find the 'Microphone' setting
  6. By clicking on the toggle you can turn your microphone on or off

 

How can I take a snapshot from the live video stream or how can I record it?

In the BT Home Cam App:

  1. Log in to the BT Home Cam App
  2. Tap the 'My Camera' menu
  3. Tap on your camera to view the live video stream
  4. Tap the screen so the icons appear
  5. Tap the camera icon to take a snapshot or tap the record icon to take a recording

Screenshots and recording will be stored on your device. For iOS devices in Photos, for Android devices in the Gallery.

 

Can I log in to my account from two devices at the same time?

No, you can only log in with one device at a time.

The latest device logged in will automatically take over the sole use of the stream and service.

You'll see a “you have logged in from another machine” message on the first device logged in and will be automatically logged out.

You tried to log in from two devices at the same time. You can only log in with one device at a time.

How many Home Cams can I have on one App?

There is no limit on how many cameras can be registered on one BT Home Cam App. But you can only watch one stream from one camera at any one time.

 

Is there a maximum number of cameras that you can set up on any single user account?

No, there is no limit on the number of cameras on a user account.

 

How do I restore the Home Cam to its original settings?

Use a pin to press and hold the reset button on the back of the camera for 10 seconds. The device needs to be plugged in while resetting.

 

How do I change the name of the camera?

In the BT Home Cam App:

  1. Log in to the BT Home Cam App on your device
  2. In the 'My Camera' section and tap 'Camera Settings'
  3. The name of your camera appears in the 'Details' section where you can change it
  4. Once done tap 'OK' to save the changes

In the web portal:

  1. Log in to the web portal at https://myhomecam.bt.com
  2. Click on the 'My Camera' menu
  3. Click on your camera
  4. Click on 'Settings'
  5. Under the 'Details' section you'll see the name of your camera and you can change it
  6. Once changed press 'Apply' to save the changes

 

How do I delete a camera?

In case you need to remove a camera from your account for example, setting it up on another account, you need to follow these steps:

A camera can only be deleted using the Web Portal

  1. Log in to the web portal at https://myhomecam.bt.com
  2. Click on the 'My Camera' menu
  3. Click on your camera
  4. Click on 'Settings'
  5. Under the 'Delete' section you can click on the 'Delete Camera' button to delete your camera

 

How do I change the time zone of the camera?

You can only change it using the web portal:

  1. Log in to the web portal at https://myhomecam.bt.com
  2. Click on the 'My Camera' menu
  3. Click on your camera
  4. Click on 'Settings'
  5. In the 'Details' section you'll find the 'Time Zone' setting.
  6. Here you can select your camera’s region and country from the list

 

How do I change the orientation of the live stream?

There can be situations where you'll need to change the orientation of the live stream.

For example, if you mount the camera to the ceiling or to the wall upside down as a default you get an upside down stream as well. To change it, follow these instructions:

In the BT Home Cam App:

  1. Log in to the BT Home Cam App
  2. On the 'My Camera' page tap on the 'Camera Settings' next to your camera
  3. In the 'Video Streaming Quality' section you can find the 'Rotation' setting
  4. By taping on it you can choose between 'Right side up' and 'Upside down' orientations

In the Web Portal:

  1. Log in to the Web Portal at https://myhomecam.bt.com
  2. Click on the 'My Camera' menu
  3. Click on your camera
  4. Click on 'Settings'
  5. In the 'Video' section you will find the 'Rotation' setting
  6. By clicking on it you can choose between 'Regular' and 'Flip' orientation
