How can I turn on or off motion detection?

In the BT Home Cam App:

  1. Log in to the BT Home Cam App
  2. On the 'My Camera' page tap on the 'Camera Settings' next to your camera
    • If you are not subscribed to the premium services in the 'Recording and Notification' section you can find the 'Push Notification' setting. By taping on the 'Push Notification' you can turn it on or off and enable/disable motion detection this way
    • If you are subscribed to the premium services in the 'Recording and Notification' section you can find the 'Save Clips', 'Push Notification' and 'Email Notification' settings. By taping on 'Save Clips' to turn saving clips to the cloud on or off you can enable or disable motion detection. By tapping on 'Push Notification' or 'Email Notification' you can turn on or off to receive these notifications

In the web portal:

  1. Log in to the web portal at https://myhomecam.bt.com
  2. Click on the 'My Camera' menu
  3. Click on your camera
  4. Click on 'Motion'
  5. In the 'Details' section you'll find the 'Motion Detection' setting
  6. By clicking on the toggle icon you can turn motion detection on or off

How do I access motion triggered events?

Events stored in the cloud are only available as part of the optional Premium Services.

In the BT Home Cam App:

  1. Log in to the BT Home Cam App
  2. Tap on the 'Events' menu
  3. Here you can see the motion triggered events

In the web portal:

  1. Log in to the web portal at https://myhomecam.bt.com
  2. Click on the 'Event' menu
  3. Here you can find the motion triggered events organised in time and date order

How can I change the sensitivity of the motion trigger?

In the BT Home Cam App:

  1. Log in to the BT Home Cam App
  2. On the 'My Camera' page tap on the 'Camera Settings' next to your camera
  3. In the 'Recording and Notification' section you can find the 'Motion Trigger Size' setting
  4. By taping on it you can choose the size which will trigger the motion sensor

In the web portal:

  1. Log in to the Web Portal at https://myhomecam.bt.com
  2. Click on the 'My Camera' menu
  3. Click on your camera
  4. Click on 'Motion'
  5. In the 'Details' section you'll find the 'Motion Trigger Size' setting
  6. By clicking on it you can choose the size which will trigger the motion sensor

Can sound events trigger the camera?

No, there is no sound triggering, only movement.

Can I adjust the length of the motion sensor recording or how long an event will be recorded?

No, you can’t adjust it as it's automatic. It starts recording as long as there is a motion and the minimum length of recording is 8 seconds.

Can motion triggered notifications be sent to more than one email address?

No, automatic notifications will only be sent to one email address.

How can I stop the push alerts and the email alerts?

'Email Notification' is only available as part of the optional premium services.
