How do I call and text?
Just call, text and send picture messages as normal whenever you see the "Wi-Fi Call" indicator in the top left hand of your screen. Wi-Fi Calling doesn't use any of your data allowances. Instead, calls and texts come out of your monthly calls allowances.
Unlike calls made over the internet (like Skype, WhatsApp or Viber) you don't need a separate app.
What happens if I move out of range of my wi-fi?
If your phone supports 4G Calling, then it'll seamlessly hand over to 4G as you move out of wi-fi range and then hand back again when you come back into range.
If your phone doesn't support 4G Calling or you don't have 4G coverage, then your call will drop as you move out of wi-fi coverage. You'll need to make the call again once you have a mobile or wi-fi signal.
Can I get my Wi-Fi Calling to switch on automatically whenever I connect to my home wi-fi?
Once you've connected to your wi-fi network the first time, it should connect automatically next time.
If you're using Wi-Fi Calling with public wi-fi, you may be required to reconnect every time you want to use it.
Can I call 999 using Wi-Fi Calling?
You can call the emergency services on 999, but they can't identify your location. You should use a landline if you can - only use Wi-Fi Calling as a last resort. You should never rely on Wi-Fi Calling as your only way to call 999.
Can I use Wi-Fi Calling abroad?
Sorry, but Wi-Fi Calling doesn't work while you're roaming. You'll still be able to make calls over 3G and 2G as normal.
