If I subscribe to the premium service how long will the events be stored in the cloud?

Events will be stored for 14 days. Please download them to your smart device or laptop, if you wish to keep them permanently.

Can I mark recordings to be kept and not deleted from the premium storage?

No, to keep an event you have to download it and store it elsewhere.

Can I stop saving clips automatically to the cloud?

In the BT Home Cam App:

  1. Log in to the BT Home Cam App
  2. On the 'My Camera' page tap on the 'Camera Settings' next to your camera
  3. In the 'Recording and Notification' section you can find the 'Save Clips' setting
  4. By taping on it you can turn saving on or off

Note that saving clips to the cloud is part of the optional premium services and this option is only visible for subscribed users.

Can I have the events recording for part of the day only?

No, recording events are not available for part of the day only.

The event recording can be manually turned off or on.

How do I copy recorded events to my local storage in my home computer or personal device?

In the web portal:

  1. Log in to the web portal at https://myhomecam.bt.com
  2. Click on the 'Event' menu
  3. Here you can find the motion triggered events organised in time and date order
  4. Click on the event you would like to download
  5. Click on the down arrow on the right hand side of the events screen
  6. Click on the 'Download' option to download the event in a zip file

How do I delete an event recording?

In the web portal:

  1. Log in to the web portal at https://myhomecam.bt.com
  2. Click on the 'Event' menu
  3. Here you can find the motion triggered events organised in time and date order
  4. Click on the event you would like to delete
  5. Click on the down arrow on the right hand side of the event’s screen
  6. Click on the 'Delete' option to delete the selected event
  7. The next time you log in to the web portal the selected event will be deleted

Recordings can’t be deleted from the App.

Can I download videos of events from the App to my smartphone?

Using the BT Home Cam App on your device you can only record the live feed by pressing the record button.

Recorded events will be stored on your device. For iOS devices in 'Photos' for Android devices in the 'Gallery'.

If you want to download events it can only be done from the web portal on a computer or laptop at https://myhomecam.bt.com

Can I email videos of events to myself/others from the App?

You first need to download them using the web portal, for details on how to download, click here.

Once a video is downloaded you can email it to yourself or to others.

How can I share a video with 3rd parties such as the police, e.g. following a burglary?

To access events you need to be subscribed to the Premium Service. For details on how to subscribe, click here.

Make sure that the recording is still available, as they're only stored for a certain period. To learn more on how long events are stored, click here.
